Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with Stroke and/or Neuro experience to join the Stroke Therapy Team on the Stroke Unit within Salisbury District Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will assess and manage a varied caseload of neurological conditions within this specialised area, working closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team. They will lead on various elements of the work in this demanding acute area of Occupational Therapy and demonstrate effective team playing as well as strong communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills. The role requires evidence of recent learning, continuous professional and clinical development, and the ability to explain decisions and actions clearly to colleagues and patients.

* Evidence of MDT working
* Evidence of good communication skills
* Evidence of complex discharge planning
* Evidence of autonomous working
* Evidence of prioritisation skills
* Evidence of deputising in absence of senior staff
* Leading group sessions
* Evidence of representing the therapy team at ward‑level meetings (e.g. MDT meetings, care reviews, handovers)
* Evidence of developing stroke‑specific skills within practice
Qualifications / Experience
* HCPC registration
* Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as an OT
* Experience of working in the NHS
* Range of postgraduate experience across core areas in an acute setting
* Experience of service development
* Experience of working with stroke and/or neurological conditions
* Experience of supervising students
* Experience of qualified staff / unqualified staff
* Experience of working as a Band 6 OT

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 a year per annum, pro rata if part time.
