They are now looking to expand the team by recruiting a Test Engineering Manager, or a Senior Test Engineer, ready to step into their first managerial role to provide leadership and direction to a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
This role combines technical leadership with hands-on involvement in complex testing operations
Around 25% of the role focuses on team leadership (6 Test Engineers and Technicians) and people management, with the remaining 75% focused on technical execution and problem-solving
Provide day-to-day guidance and technical mentorship
Conduct performance appraisals, one-to-one meetings, and general team oversight
Set clear objectives, allocate tasks, and ensure work is delivered to the required standard and on time
Play an active role in the technical delivery of test operations
Drive test development and problem-solving initiatives
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
Provision of test support to the R&D team and product engineering
Use bespoke simulation software integrated with test platforms
Apply LabVIEW and Python in test development and automation tasks
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Current role as a Test Engineering Manager or Senior Test Engineer stepping up into a managerial position
Product and industry experience: RF & Microwave, Semiconductor, Electronics, or High-speed Analogue Electronics as well as someone who is working in Academia
Education: HNC/HND or degree preferred, though apprenticeship and shop-floor experience are also valuable; a background in physics/physical sciences, mathematics, or electrical/electronic engineering is desirable
Key Skills: LabVIEW or Python are the preferred tools, but other programming languages are also considered
Must have experience in test development
Based in or willing to relocate to County Durham
