Job Description:
We have a brand new opportunity to join our Asset team as an Assistant Manager.
The North West Trunk Road Unit spans some 1,422km of trunk road through some of the most scenic parts of the country. It also includes 1,501 bridges and structures, including the Kessock Bridge which carries the A9 north of Inverness and the A87 Skye Crossing.
The North West Unit covers a huge area of Scotland, from Thurso and Wick in the very north of the Highlands down to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling in the central belt.
The Assistant Network Data Manager, reporting to the Network Data Manager, will ensure that inspections are carried out according to the requirements on the Network Management Contract and the Trunk Road Information Manual. This role includes overseeing the daily management and operations of a team of Asset Inspectors.
Role includes:
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures that form part of BEAR’s Integrated Management Systems.
* Manage the daily activities of the Inspectors and the operation in AMPS.
* Ensure that inspections are carried out on time and in accordance with the inspection programme and the trunk road information manual.
* Review the collected inspection data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
* Assist in reviewing the Comprehensive Inspections of Geotechnical Assets Reporting.
* Report and liaise with the AMPS team to resolve problems and issues.
* Assist with responses to Hazard Notices and Observations resulting from inspections.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Network Data Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Experience and working knowledge of inspection procedures.
* Experience and working knowledge of data capture hardware and software used in road maintenance.
* Experience with Routine Management and Maintenance Systems.
* Ability to comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
* Effective team working skills.
* Problem-solving abilities.
* Data review skills.
* Flexible working attitude.
* Self-management and motivation.
* A full valid UK driving license.
* Adaptability.
