Role: Employee Relations Policy Advisor
Salary and benefits: Competitive salary, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates
Employment: Full time, permanent, 35 hours a week
Location: Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield, S98 6HR
Working arrangement: Hybrid – expected to attend the office 2 or 3 days per week (including Wednesdays & Thursdays)
About The Role
* Providing written/telephone expert ER advice and guidance to managers at all levels across the organisation
* Managing a portfolio of ER cases, providing progressive tailored advice, scheduling and prioritising activities based on the risk assessment and needs of each case
* Reviewing/drafting letters and documents related to ER cases and providing feedback to managers
* Coaching and up‑skilling managers in all aspects of people management, including robust decision‑making, fairness, and consistency of application of ER policies and procedures
* Ensuring all case management details are recorded accurately on the People Case Management system and that cases are proactively managed and driven through to conclusion
* Reporting to the ER Advisory Services Team Leaders and collaborating with wider HR teams and stakeholders to address complex ER matters
* Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the ER Advisory Service
* Highlighting themes and trends from case work and enquiries, including management capability and procedures improvements
About You
* In‑depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practice in Employee Relations
* Excellent written and telephone communication skills
* Experience in coaching and up‑skilling managers
* Strong questioning and analytical skills
* Proven ability to deliver commercially savvy, pragmatic HR solutions to complex Employee Relations cases, with a strong focus on managing risk
* Ability to work in partnership with customers and stakeholders to deliver business requirements
* Ideally CIPD qualified (level 5)
* Passion for continuous improvement and self‑development
