Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Reporting to: Head of Engineering We are looking for a reliable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance of our site/buildings. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong practical background who takes pride in keeping facilities safe, compliant, and well maintained. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 38 hours Monday to Friday. Salary for this position starts from £30,000, depending on experience. About the Role: Key responsibilities in this role will include: Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the facility General building maintenance including joinery, basic plumbing, painting, and repairs Basic electrical and mechanical works (within competence) Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health & safety standards Liaise with external contractors and supervise when required Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports Support small project work and site improvements About you: Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in facilities, property, or building maintenance Multi-skilled background (carpentry, plumbing, general repairs) Good understanding of health & safety procedures Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Full UK driving licence Desirable Skills and Experience Basic electrical or mechanical qualifications Experience in commercial or industrial facilities IOSH certification PAT certification Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems About Us Founded in 1797, Johnstons of Elgin is an innovative, luxury clothing brand celebrating 225 years of experience in working with the world’s finest fibres.
