Pharmacy Technician
Salary:£14.42 per hour
Hours:
1st Role - Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week (Monday - Friday 11:00 - 20:00 with a 1-Hour Break)
2nd Role - Saturdays only – 9am to 6pm with 1 hour break
Contract: Fixed term 3 to 6 months
Our client is seeking a GHPC registered Pharmacy Technician with at least 1 year’s experience post registration, to support the small team with the clinical pharmacy service based in the dispensary. Working closely with the other Technicians and Pharmacist you will be responsible for a safe and efficient patient focused service and deliver a robust and efficient pharmacy service to include dispensing services, procurement for the pharmacy, and the supply of medicines to clinical areas and medicines management as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dispensary: Support safe and efficient pharmacy services, including dispensing prescriptions, stock control, and supply of medicines to clinical areas
2. Team Support: Work closely with the team to manage workflow, quality assurance, and implement service improvements
3. Communication: Liaise with internal (e.g., clinical staff, finance) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers) to ensure timely and cost-effective medication supply
4. Stock & Controlled Drugs Management: Oversee stock rotation, expiry checks, controlled drugs handling, and resolve stock discrepancies
5. Patient Interaction: Dispense and support patients on medication use, ensuring safe and effective treatment
6. Procurement & Inventory: Order and receive medicines and ancillary items, maintain delivery records, and ensure correct storage and disposal of medicines
7. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Maintain SOPs, ensure adherence to policies, and uphold GPhC registration and CPD requirement
Role Requirements:
8. Must be GPHC registered as Pharmacy Technician
9. 1 year’s experience post registration
10. BTEC or NVQ in pharmaceutical services or equivalent
11. Experience in working in a dispensary
12. Excellent communication with professional manner and customer service skills
13. Be available for immdeitate start
Desirable Requirements:
14. Accredited Checking Technician
15. Medicines Optimisation Qualification
16. Experience in dealing with high end patient/clients
