I am currently representing Slough Council, which is offering an initial temporary contract for 6 months, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position for the right candidate. The rate is negotiable depending on experience.
We are seeking a Local Plan Project Manager. This role will be based at: SL1 2EJ, with a hybrid working arrangement.
The ideal candidate will:
* Project manage and plan to enable Slough to submit its Local Plan for examination in December 2026.
* Progress the Local Plan by scoping and commissioning three key studies: a Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment, Gypsy and Traveller accommodation needs assessment, and an update to the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping report.
* Address Slough-specific planning issues to submit the Local Plan to PINS by December 2026, with Regulation 19 consultation in February 2026.
* Review evidence and processes to date, considering current SBC policy and emerging MHCLG policy.
* Update the project plan, including the process, evidence base, and policies.
* Scope and procure evidence for Regulation 19 to Submission.
* Support the drafting of topic papers and committee reports.
