Overview
Are you an Electrical Engineer with proven experience on National Grid or SSEN Transmission projects? We offer opportunities for highly experienced Electrical Engineers with knowledge of Substations/Primary Plant 132kV, 275kV, 400kV. The successful candidate will be based in Glasgow, working 40 hours per week with hybrid options available. Rate will depend on experience.
Responsibilities
* Lead FEED and detailed design workstreams for SSEN or National Grid across substations up to 400kV, including AIS and GIS projects.
* Ensure quality assurance for FEED, detailed design, and bids for SSEN, NGET and DNOs; manage resources and training for FEED and detailed design delivery.
* Review HV plant aspects of projects (HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations, and technical specifications for HV plant equipment).
* Coordinate with back-office engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
* Manage tender packages as tender manager and address HV plant aspects of technical offers.
* Attend and chair design review and Hazard review meetings; review HV plant design packages as required.
* Attend site visits, FAT and SAT as required; maintain strong communication and teamwork; be customer-focused with business development awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.
* Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical discipline with delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects; minimum 5 years UK experience on National Grid or SSEN Transmission projects.
* Relevant HV and LV experience and knowledge of Substations/Primary Plant 132kV, 275kV, 400kV; experience preparing design calculations, reports and detailed drawings.
* Proven leadership and management skills to lead teams and projects effectively.
The Setting
The role is mainly office-based with site visits if required. A safety induction will be provided.
