Role Overview

The post holder will be responsible for clinical leadership of the Adapt Team, providing effective leadership for a multi‑disciplinary clinical team and ensuring the development of services that are comprehensive, flexible and promote a culture of service users and carers’ involvement at every stage of the care pathway.

The post holder will be expected to lead and manage a multi‑professional team of staff, provide supervision, mentorship and leadership, and maintain a high‑quality service within the resources available.


Responsibilities

* Manage referrals, assessment and treatment within the Adapt Service.
* Perform performance monitoring and management of the team.
* Provide line management and supervision of staff.
* Develop and maintain a culture of effective risk management.
* Participate in recruitment and selection of staff, leading on decisions as designated by the Locality Manager.
* Respond to serious untoward incidents and support subsequent investigations.
* Respond to Safeguarding Adult alerts.
* Ensure relevant forums within clinical teams for the dissemination and embedding of learning points from complaints and serious untoward incidents.
* Ensure equality and diversity is considered in all aspects of the team’s business.
* Promote and display support for the Trust’s key policies on Equality and Diversity and the recovery‑oriented approach for people with longer‑term problems.
* Develop and review job plans that reflect service needs and are adjusted to meet the demands of the service.
* Ensure the team functions in line with the agreed operational policy.
* Investigate complaints fully within the time limits, ensuring a proactive approach in accordance with trust policies.
* Maintain the Trust’s reputation and that of senior colleagues by supporting a positive attitude and strong commitment to results.
* Work with other team leads to ensure the locality provides a seamless service.
* Develop, implement and maintain systems, processes and practice in risk management, including the management of Health and Safety.
* Ensure all aspects of Safeguarding are adhered to and that policies and procedures are followed at all times.
* Effectively manage the risk of infection, ensuring related policies are fully complied with and communicated in the team.
* Provide clear and consistent leadership to the workforce, engaging staff in the delivery of all performance targets on behalf of the Trust.
* Develop and maintain professional standards and compliance with mandatory training requirements.
* Communicate regularly through team meetings, briefings, clinical forums and individually with team members, providing an opportunity for two‑way feedback.
* Respond to serious untoward incidents and Safeguarding Adult alerts promptly and appropriately.
* Ensure that the team has a structure of clinical governance that maintains clinical records and documentation to the agreed compliance standard for the Trust.


Qualifications

* Considerable experience in mental health assessment, management and clinical risk.
* Good understanding and a high level of competence with therapeutic skills, being responsive and flexible in working with adult and young people transitioning from CAMHS.
* Experience leading the overall clinical pathways of the Adapt Service and supporting the team and locality manager to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
* Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining systems and processes for risk management and training.
