Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, you will assist in the smooth running of the various areas of the factory. Your responsibilities will include supporting the Site Supervisor in achieving all Key Performance Indicators, including production output, process control, clay and biscuit ware quality, and adherence to Health & Safety standards. You will also help ensure compliance with B Corp and sustainability initiatives, support training and development, maintain high housekeeping standards, and assist in managing absence and timekeeping.
Shift Leadership & Operations
· Act as the first point of contact for all queries during the noon shift.
· Lead the team across the site in the absence of the Site Supervisor, making day-to-day operational decisions in good faith.
· Ensure clear communication on shift handover documents, detailing any issues encountered and decisions made.
· Support production across multiple departments to address gaps and balance workflow according to the production plan.
Quality Management
· Coordinate and conduct in-process checks in line with company quality system requirements. Document findings and report to the Site Supervisor.
· Provide timely feedback on quality issues to the responsible person/department.
· Review ongoing quality concerns within the department and assist in developing mitigation plans with the Site Supervisor.
· Ensure Health, Safety & Compliance.
· Act as a registered company First Aider and Fire Marshal, completing all required training.
· Lead or assist in the development and review of Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
· Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, promoting a safe working environment for all colleagues, contractors, and visitors.
B Corp & Sustainability
· Support the implementation of B Corp initiatives on shift, including sustainability practices, ethical operations, and social responsibility standards.
· Promote waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable working practices within the team.
Employee Relations
· Work closely with other departmental Team Leaders to resolve problems and ensure smooth operations.
· Identify improvement opportunities across departments and collaborate with the production team to determine feasibility.
· Oversee, organise, and maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards across the department.
· Contribute to team development by providing guidance, support, and coaching to colleagues.
Flexibility & Continuous Improvement
· Confirm and complete required mould changes across departments to enable the Biscuit Factory to respond flexibly to production plan requirements.
· Assist in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at operational efficiency, quality enhancement, and workplace culture.
