About the RoleHays Education is recruiting Qualified Humanities Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a variety of secondary schools in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas. We are looking for confident teachers specialising in any of the key Humanities subjects, including:
* History
* Geography
* Religious Studies (RS)
* Citizenship
* Sociology (where applicable)
We offer a mix of:
* Day-to-day supply
* Short-term block placements
* Long-term Humanities roles available now, after Easter, and from September
Whether you're exploring immediate opportunities or planning ahead, we'd love to support your next step.What you'll be doingAs a Humanities Supply Teacher, you will:
* Teach your specialist subject across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Deliver pre-planned lessons and maintain student engagement
* Manage classroom behaviour professionally and with confidence
* Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive learning environment
* Adapt quickly to different schools, schemes of work and department expectations
Long-term roles may also include planning, marking, assessment and participation in department meetings.What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* A specialism in History, Geography, RS, or related Humanities subject
* Experience teaching in a UK secondary school (ECT placements accepted)
* Strong behaviour management and the ability to engage mixed-ability groups
* The right to work in the UK
* An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply for one
* A flexible and proactive approach to supply work
* ECTs are encouraged to apply
