About the role EMBS is partnering with a growing UK renewable energy business that owns the full project lifecycle - design, build, commissioning and energisation - across solar PV and distributed generation projects nationwide. They're part of a larger European group with a strong pipeline and long-term project security. This is the technical lead on site during the commissioning phase. You'll own the DNO witness test process end-to-end, run string and inverter commissioning, HV/LV cable and transformer tests, protection relay testing and SCADA validation. When something goes wrong on site, you diagnose and fix it - not escalate and wait. What you'll do Lead on-site commissioning across UK solar PV projects - string testing, inverter commissioning, HV/LV cable and transformer tests, protection relay testing, SCADA validation Coordinate directly with DNOs and ICPs for energisation and G99 witness tests Diagnose and resolve communication faults, inverter trips and protection issues on site Produce commissioning documentation, test reports, redlines and handover packs through PAC and FAC milestones What we're looking for Proven commissioning experience on UK solar PV, renewables or distributed generation - or a strong electrical commissioning background with appetite to move into solar G99 and G100 experience is essential, comfortable running DNO witness tests end-to-end HV experience up to 132kV (extra-high voltage not required) Able to interpret SLDs, I/O lists, functional diagrams and protection settings Clear communicator across DNOs, ICPs, EPCs, OEMs and internal teams Nice to have: HV authorisation, OMICRON / Megger familiarity, hybrid PVBESS commissioning, SCADA / networking exposure.
