Are you passionate about empowering people and making a meaningful impact in your community? Join The Advocacy People as our new Partnership Development Co-ordinator and play a vital role in delivering high-quality advocacy services for adults in Sussex.
Advocacy allows individuals to have their voices heard and respected when decisions are being made about their health and social care. It raises awareness of people’s rights and entitlements and empowers people to advocate for themselves or to speak up for them when they can’t.
About the Role
As the key operational link between The Advocacy People and our delivery partners, you will ensure seamless collaboration, strong performance, and excellent service provision for adults in need of advocacy support. You’ll also take the lead on our volunteer and student program - recruiting, supporting, and inspiring a diverse team to deliver impactful, person-centred advocacy.
What we’re looking for from you
We’re looking for a confident and organised professional ideally with some experience in managing partnerships and leading volunteer or student programs. You’ll need strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams. Experience in advocacy or working with diverse communities is essential, along with the ability to monitor service delivery, manage data, and drive quality improvements.
You should be self-motivated, resilient, and committed to upholding principles of empowerment, equality and safeguarding. A good understanding of advocacy frameworks, safeguarding practices, and local networks (particularly in Sussex) will be beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital platforms is expected, along with the flexibility to travel and occasionally work evenings or weekends. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are also required.
The role is home-based but will require regular travel within Brighton and Hove, some within East and West Sussex and occasionally further afield (e.g. staff away day) so ideally, you are based in Sussex but we may consider surrounding counties.
