Hays Accountancy & Finance are working in partnership with a charity-based organisation who are looking for a Finance Manager / Management Accountant to manage the day-to-day finances as well as monthly reporting to SORP standards. This is an ideal role in managing purpose over profit.
Your new role
As the Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the transactional finance across the ledgers to trial balance through to the production of the monthly management accounts to include journals, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, as well as detailed variance analysis of costs vs. budgets and cashflow forecasting. Due to the nature of the charity, you will monitor various ie streams, and support all areas of the charity with confident financial advice to maximise ie and manage these operational costs.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a charity or non-for-profit organisation, as the monthly reporting needs to meet financialpliance to charity SORP standards and be aware of VAT exceptions, as well as improve internal procedures regarding the recording of gift aid and donations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be at least AAT Qualified or a Part-Qualified Accountant with experience of charity reporting and able to produce the monthly management accounts, undertake extensive reconciliations, review various ie streams and present your management accounts to the Trustees withmentary on variances, as well as statements on VAT returns, cashflow forecasting including gift aid / donations and at all times working to SORP standards.
We will also considermercial accountants or ex-practice accountants who have a desire and passion to support a charitable organisation, provided you can demonstrate your understanding or ideally, experience of charity account reporting.
What you'll get in return
