About The Role
In your role as part of a Gardening team at HC-One, you will undertake gardening duties at your Care Home and maintain the gardens and grounds to a high standard to help HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will be responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the Homes.
As a Gardner, your responsibilities include general gardening duties such as planting seasonal foliage, grass-cutting, pruning shrubs, watering hanging baskets, weed eradication, and tidying pathways, walkways, and driveways. You will maintain gardening machinery and tools, carry out tests and checks, and undertake external fencing and furniture painting. Additionally, you will work closely with the estates team on salt gritting and snow clearance as required.

About You
We are looking for a Gardner who understands and will ensure compliance with the Care Home’s Health and Safety, Emergency, and Fire procedures. You will complete mandatory and role-specific training, on or off-site, to maintain your professional knowledge. Effective communication with Residents, the Home Manager, colleagues, and visitors is essential.
This full-time role covers multiple care homes, so a valid driving license and access to a company vehicle are required.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the procedures for reporting concerns. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed.
