Overview
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are recruiting two proactive Assistant Janitors to join the Estates and Facilities Department on a permanent, full-time basis. The position is available for an immediate start (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The role is full time (47 hours) and will work across the Queensferry Road site and Ravelston site, with some requirements to also work across the Inverleith site. Being on-call and having weekend availability is a requirement of the role.
The purpose of the Janitorial Team is to ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of the Schools and campus. You will be responsible for tasks including acting as Fire Officer, managing fire hazards, monitoring CCTV, assisting visitors, managing traffic, performing minor repairs, and maintaining cleanliness and outdoor areas. You will also support event setups, conduct PAT testing, and operate and maintain school vehicles and minibuses when required.

Requirements / Qualifications
* Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures; ability to handle physical and manual handling tasks.
* Previous experience in a janitorial or caretaking role.
* Experience in transporting large goods such as furniture and equipment; able to carry out small, manual tasks.
* Familiarity with security and fire systems.
* Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
* Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
