Painters - Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Portadown Join the Northern Ireland Housing Executive as a Painter and play a vital role in maintaining and improving homes and properties across Portadown. About the role:
1. £14.35 - £16.90 per hour
2. Monday to Friday (8.30am - 4.30am)
3. 37 hours a week
4. Holidays: 35 days pro rata
5. Duration: Temporary, ongoing

What you'll be doing in this role:
7. To apply paint, stain, varnish, primers, sealers and fungicidal solution as and when required to timber, metal, plaster and masonry work etc
8. To carry out any required preparation by stripping, sanding, wire brushing to maintain doors, door frames, windows, timber, metal and masonry etc
9. To remove and refit fixtures and fittings, ironmongery as required
10. To fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knifes.
What you'll need for this role:
11. Have successfully completed an apprenticeship in Painting/Decorating (either time served or skills based)
12. 2 years’ post Apprenticeship Painting/Decorating experience
13. Competent in core trade with ability to complete a range of tasks without input from other operatives
14. Can demonstrate sound practical knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety requirements and legislation in a maintenance/repair environment
15. The successful applicant may also be required to provide an emergency call out service, at night and weekends, on a rota basis
16. A full current driving licence. A form of transport will be provided to enable the post holder to carry out their duties
17. As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
