Senior Project Manager
Day Rate: Up to £500 per day inside IR35
Clearance Required: SC Clearance
Contract Length: Initial 3 months
Start Date: ASAP
Blackpool-based role- Hybrid working with 2–3 days per week on-site
An experienced Senior Project Manager is required to support the delivery of a complex project within a central government environment. This role involves leading multiple concurrent initiatives, often shaping requirements from an early stage and driving delivery across a broad and complex stakeholder landscape.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of multiple workstream projects
* Work with business stakeholders to define, shape, and validate requirements, often from inception
* Oversee solution design options, including data access, infrastructure, and bespoke technology requirements
* Engage and coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders including Architecture, Security, Networks, Commercial, Finance, and Digital Workplace teams
* Collaborate with external stakeholders such as other government departments, law enforcement agencies, and third-party suppliers
* Manage project plans, timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies
* Ensure delivery at pace while maintaining quality and governance standards
* Identify risks and blockers early, and take proactive steps to mitigate or resolve them
* Support procurement activity and supplier management
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong background delivering complex, multi-stream projects within central government or highly regulated environments
* Experience working across technical and business domains, including infrastructure, networks, and security
* Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior internal and external partners
* Experience with procurement, commercial processes, and supplier management
* Ability to identify, manage, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies effectively
* Proficiency in a range of project management methodologies and tools (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)
