Job Summary
Government Commercial Agency has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join the Data and Insights team. The role will require engagement with all levels of the business, and with key strategic external customers, to define requirements and embed best practice around data standards and the use of data. The role holder will be responsible for translating business needs into a robust and sustainable data architecture that leverages the full suite of technology solutions to provide intelligence to the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
* Strategy & Architecture: Delivering the data strategy, improving data architecture, ensuring data models, data warehouse structures, and API interfaces are robust and scalable.
* BI & Implementation: Supporting implementation of third‑party BI solutions, establishing technical standards for interoperability, and overseeing related projects.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Working with Data Infrastructure and Data Insights teams, as well as operational customers, to deliver Business Intelligence as a service with excellence.
Essential Criteria
* Understanding of data warehousing administration and development, with specific emphasis on Azure Data Warehouse, SQL and the wider suite of Azure tools.
* Experience with development and management of API integrations (Salesforce, Workday, bespoke solutions).
* Experience in delivering against defined business needs and implementing innovative solutions to meet those needs while ensuring data quality is maintained and enriched.
* Experience in data model development and system design.

* Appreciation of the BI marketplace and capabilities of BI tools.
