Assist the Estates Officer (Operations) and be responsible for supporting the delivery of a high quality, efficient, responsive, flexible and effective estates service to Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Work as part of the Estates Department Team, collaborating with Building, Engineering and Project Officers.
Supervise Estates Trade Staff teams and contractors as appropriate.
Carry out inspections, tests, repairs and installations on Trust property, plant and infrastructure.
Complete allocated works dockets, update the Trust CAFM system in a timely manner.
Organise and coordinate own workload and manage assigned trade staff workload.
Report faults identified during routine checks, planned preventive maintenance or during normal work.
Identify parts and equipment required, use Estates Stores system to obtain items according to Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
Investigate technical failures, identify appropriate permanent repair and ensure ongoing reliability and statutory compliance.
Participate in the Estates escalation process, assist other estate staff with technical works and problem solving.
Carry out internal audits of Estates teamwork and practice.
Participate in the Estates on-call rota.

Essential
Recognised and registered in EITB, City & Guilds, modern apprenticeship, NVQ level 4 or approved equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Plumbing.
Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience within required technical disciplines (e.g. BMS, decontamination).
Experience developing and working within a safe system of work.
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, ACOPs, guidance, NHS technical standards (e.g. Health Technical Memoranda) and Trust policies; basic life support and emergency aid with readiness to train.
Skill in maintenance, fault finding, diagnostic procedures, test & repair work on a wide range of complex engineering services & equipment, able to work unassisted in varying environments while complying with Health & Safety / environmental regulations.
Ability to plan and organise unsupervised routine and complex maintenance, analysis, solution finding and repair work in coordination with contractors.
Desirable
Training in Health & Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, First Aid).
Registration with approved organisations (e.g. UK Register of Electricians, JIB Schemes, Gas Safe).
Experience across several HTMs as a CP or AP.
Knowledge of HTMs, HBNs and Estates specific legislation.
