Trade Counter Salesperson (Temp to Perm)

The Role
As a Trade Counter Salesperson, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service while supporting the day‑to‑day running of the trade counter. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong customer‑facing experience and an interest in construction products.
Key Responsibilities
* Serving customers at the trade counter and handling enquiries
* Providing product advice and recommending suitable materials
* Processing sales orders and payments accurately
* Maintaining stock levels and ensuring the counter area is well organised
* Assisting with goods in/out when required
* Building strong relationships with both new and existing customers
Essential Criteria
* Previous experience in a customer‑facing role
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
* Good level of numeracy and attention to detail
* Basic IT skills for processing orders and payments
Desirable Criteria
* Previous trade counter or builders merchants experience
* Knowledge of construction materials and products
* Experience using EPOS or stock control systems
* Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
