Strathburn House is situated in Gairloch on the West Coast of the Highlands in Scotland and is part of the North Coast 500 area. It is an integral part of the local community. Gairloch features beautiful beaches such as Big Sands, Red Point Beach, and the well-known Gruinard Bay, where water sports are popular. Opportunities for fishing, falconry, and other skills are also available. During high season, the area offers lovely cafes and restaurants. The award-winning Gairloch Museum provides insights into local history. Other attractions include the old gun turrets at the end of Cove, which house World War II artefacts and information.
Accommodation options are available in Inverasdale, Poolewe, Aultbea, and Gairloch, all within a reasonable commute by car.
We are seeking a dedicated individual to work under the supervision of the shift leader, providing personal care and support to service users, including:
1. Contributing to the movement and treatment of service users to maximize their physical comfort.
2. Assisting with nutritional needs, including helping service users to eat and drink where appropriate.
3. Enabling and assisting with continence management.
4. Supporting access to toilet facilities.
5. Assisting with washing, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene.
Other responsibilities include working in accordance with the National Care Standards for Care Homes, contributing to care plans with key workers, undertaking domestic duties, covering kitchen duties, assisting with laundry responsibilities, and undertaking vehicle escort duties as required.
Applicants should be aware of their responsibilities regarding health and safety and participate in ongoing risk assessments related to their role. Participation in personal development activities and training is encouraged. The position requires registration and maintenance of registration with the SSSC.
