A client within the Public Sector based in Northamptonshire is currently recruiting for a Building Control Officer Class 2A–C to join their Building Control team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to assist with site inspection, plan vetting/approval, and supervision of building work in accordance with Building Regulations and allied legislation, ensuring the delivery of a professional Building Control service.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Managing a varied caseload of building regulation applications within Class 2 registration.
• Carrying out site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulation Standards.
• Providing advice on building control legislation to building professionals and members of the public.
• Investigating and resolving breaches of the Building Regulations and relevant Acts.
• Assisting with dangerous structures, ruinous buildings, and demolition inspections.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Registration with the Building Safety Regulator – Minimum Class 2A.
• Membership of ABE, RICS, or CIOB.
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Knowledge of the Building Control Act 1984 and Building Safety Act 2022.
• Experience of dangerous structures and demolition legislation.
• Experience of working within a local authority Building Control environment.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £70 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £55 per hour PAYE).
