About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking DT department in a supportive and inclusive school community. You’ll be delivering exciting, hands-on lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 — teaching everything from food safety and nutrition to practical cooking and presentation skills.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT ready to bring fresh energy to the classroom. With a well-equipped kitchen suite and strong departmental support, you’ll have the tools to thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
Delivering engaging Food Tech lessons that combine theory, creativity, and real-life application
Preparing students for GCSE success through practical and written assessments
Promoting healthy eating, food safety, and a love for cooking
Contributing to curriculum development and extracurricular activities (think cooking clubs and school bake-offs!)
Creating a safe, inclusive and dynamic learning environment
What We’re Looking For
QTS with a specialism in Food Technology (DT)
Experience teaching Food Tech at Key Stage 3 and 4
Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
Passion for your subject and an ability to make learning accessible and exciting
ECTs are encouraged to apply – your fresh ideas are welcome!
