Overview

They need a Production Manager who can steady the ship on the shop floor while building the kind of structure that makes people and machines perform at their best. As Production Manager you will be the link between senior leadership and the people who make it all happen.
Five Team Leaders will look to you for guidance, around 40 machinists will rely on you to keep things clear and consistent, because you understand the work, whether that is millers, lathes, CNC, sliding head or fixed head, you will have the credibility to back up your decisions with real knowledge, not just words. You will not be bogged down with everything an Ops or Works Manager has to juggle; as Production Manager you know that this is about focus, leading, guiding and setting the tone day to day. You will create an environment where your Team Leaders can succeed, where production targets are realistic, and where people take pride in the components leaving the shop floor. Why does it matter? Because this is a business in transition; get it right here and you will be part of a leadership team shaping the future, not just keeping up with the past.
Responsibilities
As Production Manager you will:
* be the link between senior leadership and the shop floor;
* lead five Team Leaders and guide approximately 40 machinists to maintain clarity and consistency;
* ensure understanding of work across mills, lathes, CNC, sliding head and fixed head operations with credibility and knowledge;
* focus on leadership, guidance, and setting the daily tone on the shop floor;
* create an environment where Team Leaders can succeed and production targets are realistic;
* foster pride in the components leaving the shop floor.
What is in it for you
* £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience
* Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4pm
* 26 days holiday plus bank holidays
