Interim Governance/Risk Lead – 3 Months

Main purpose of role
To provide support to the Integrated Governance function working with the Head of Integrated Governance and governance team supporting the implementation of a business wide governance development plan across the whole business. Leading key workstreams within the plan reporting directly to the Director of Governance.
Key responsibilities
Providing support to the delivery of a business wide approach to key clinical and integrated governance activities including:
* Policy development and alignment
* Medicines management /Governance
* Risk management
* Supporting the patient safety specialist in rolling out PSIRF across the business and embedding Incident reporting and management
* Service and CQC compliance
* Patient experience and PROMS
Providing support to the surgical and diagnostics services element of the business.

Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Clinical Qualification
* Risk management qualification
* PSIRF training
Experience
* Evidence of working in Corporate Governance / Risk Management role.
* Experience of working with others with high level responsibilities and understanding of how to plan their part in provision of effective and efficient best practice risk management systems and processes and delivering high quality work at pace.
* Experience of using Incident and Risk Management Systems used within healthcare.
* Experience of working constructively, sensitively, and confidentially, in a potentially politically challenging environment, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects to agreed timescales, with visible results.
* Experience of working with and implementation of PSIRF
* Evidence of working with audit teams and tracking recommendation within large organisations.
* Experience of delivering positive change
* Experience of leading CQC compliance /service compliance workstreams
* Experience of supporting the development of Board reporting and Board assurance frameworks
Skills and competencies
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Able to positively influence and engage staff at all levels
* Ability to work with complex and confidential information in a sensitive and appropriate way.
* Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking
Knowledge
* An excellent working knowledge of governance frameworks and best practice and ability to interpret legislative frameworks and guidance in NHS, health and social care settings.
* A good understanding of medicines and governance best practice within healthcare
* A good understanding of quality standards in a surgical and diagnostic service.
