Offer description

We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone. We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking. After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK.

Our UK customers can also bank with us. With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award-winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers! We’re not about selling products – we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo.

Information Security Team

At Monzo, our mission is to make money work for everyone. Central to this is making sure the bank is safe and secure for our customers. We’re always keen to hear from people who believe in our mission and want to join us on this journey.

This is a very exciting opportunity to join our Information Security Squad for a 14-month FTC. We’re focused on building security processes that allow the bank to move at pace, while protecting our customers.

* Contributing to information security projects as part of our security programme.
* Operating critical security processes, such as our regular user access review, third-party security risk assessments, and compliance exercises.
* Working with our external partners to support the Bank’s compliance with PCI:DSS (the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
* Making sure we’re forward-looking by staying ahead of new security threats, innovations in technology, and emerging risks.
* Working closely with internal audit and risk teams to ensure security controls are properly implemented and regularly assessed for effectiveness.
* Working closely with developers, product managers, and other teams to deliver all of the above.

Responsibilities and Requirements

We’d love to hear from you if…

* You’re passionate about security: you’re genuinely excited about the challenges and opportunities within cyber security at Monzo and eager to learn more.
* You have a technical curiosity: you have a knack for understanding how things work, are capable of lateral thinking, and enjoy crafting solutions to complex problems.
* You understand security basics: you have a foundational understanding of security concepts and best practices and can confidently propose solutions to help Monzo progress in line with them.
* You are comfortable with varied work: You’ve managed multiple projects at once.
* You understand technical information: you’re comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation and procedures.
* You’re proactive and eager to learn: you take initiative, are proactive in seeking information, and are committed to continuous learning.
* You’re a good communicator: you can clearly communicate your ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* You’re a team player: you enjoy collaborating with others and contributing to a positive team environment.
* You have experience supporting compliance with PCI:DSS: You have some experience working with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Experience in a similar financial services role or a highly regulated environment, and security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cyber Security Analyst+, or CISM are a plus!

What’s in it for you

£40,000 – £50,000 share options. This role can be based in our London office, but we’re open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London). Please note this will be a 14-month fixed-term-contract.

* We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, and at times that suit you and your team.
* £1,000 learning budget each year to use on books, training courses, and conferences.
* We will set you up to work from home; all employees are given Macbooks and for fully remote workers we will provide extra support for your work-from-home setup.

The application journey has 3 key steps:

* 30 min recruiter call.
* 30 min initial call with Hiring Manager.
* 2 hours of technical and behavioural interviews.

Diversity and inclusion are a priority for us and we’re making sure we have lots of support for all of our people to grow at Monzo. At Monzo, we’re embracing diversity by fostering an inclusive environment for all people to do the best work of their lives with us. This is integral to our mission of making money work for everyone.
