The Service Controller position is a crucial role within the organisation and the ideal candidate would be a proactive and enthusiastic person, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Due to continued organic growth, we are looking to add a Service Controller who will work as part of our hugely experienced Service Team. This is a full-time position (40 hour week, Mon to Fri, 8am - 4.30pm), based at our new depot in Ipswich, Suffolk (IP3 9RR). Industry experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided on-the-job (rate of pay will obviously depend on experience).
Job Role:
The role will primarily require you to answer and log customer breakdowns and defects on our bespoke management system, ensuring all information is recorded accurately. You will proactively comminute with customers and arrange for engineers to visit their sites to attend essential breakdowns and planned service and maintenance work. You will liaise daily with your designated engineers and take on responsibility for organising and planning the engineer's working day as efficiently as possible, using a common-sense approach to prioritise the varying needs of our customers.
In summary, your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities are as follows:
* Liaise with and support the service engineers, quotation controllers, sales representatives and Managers to help maximise the effectiveness of the Service Department, ensuring that all revenue and margin opportunities are optimised.
* Proactively communicate with customers - arranging breakdown cover and planned service and maintenance work in an efficient and professional manner – with the aim of maximizing customer satisfaction and encouraging repeat business.
* Ensure time sheet data is accurate and up to date to allow smooth processing when closing and invoicing your engineers' jobs.
* Whilst the above responsibilities outline the main functions of this position, management may from time to time, ask you to undertake other duties commensurate with the salary for this position.
