We’re working with a specialist education setting in Newcastle supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and complex communication needs. The school blends therapy, care, and education to create truly individualised support for each learner. This is a setting where progress is measured in moments—and every small step forward is celebrated. What you’ll be doing: Providing personal care, mobility and feeding support, and sensory regulation Using communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC to help pupils engage Supporting therapy-led activities that develop independence and confidence Collaborating with teaching, medical, and therapy staff to deliver joined-up support Creating calm, caring routines that build safety and trust Who we’re looking for: Experience in care, support, or SEND environments is ideal—but not essential A calm, patient, and compassionate approach is a must Confidence around personal care and moving & handling (or willingness to train) A genuine passion for helping children and young people with complex needs thrive Training will be provided—we’ll support you every step of the way.
