As a Clothing Storesperson in our Defence Academy Services team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe custody and accurate issue of MOD clothing, equipment, and stores. Your work will help maintain operational readiness and support the wider Defence community.

What you'll do as a Clothing Storesperson
You'll be entrusted to:
1. Manage the clothing account on behalf of the Head of Logistics
2. Oversee all aspects of accounting for receipt, issue, and disposal of military clothing
3. Maintain the Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) database
4. Condition stock for disposal and handle non-standard demands
5. Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to ensure compliance and efficiency
6. Produce forms, reports, and procedures for accurate record keeping
7. Ensure your working area meets Health and Safety regulations

9. Security Clearance (SC) or have no problems obtaining it.
10. Full UK driving licence
11. Ability to attend a MOD MJDI course post-appointment
12. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
13. Confidence in managing inventory systems and liaising with multiple stakeholders

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
