Overview
Brockenhurst College is recruiting a Curriculum Leader for Computing and IT on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £47,040 - £49,690 per annum. The college serves around 2,800 sixth form students each year and is based in the New Forest National Park, offering a wide range of courses and superb facilities.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Curriculum Area effectively in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment to achieve high quality outcomes and strong student progression.
* Oversee the production of ambitious, inspiring teaching and learning materials across courses in the Curriculum Area.
* Ensure that schemes of work, assessment plans, assessments and mock exams are high quality, fit for purpose and regularly updated.
* Lead and promote innovative teaching, learning and assessment across the Curriculum Area.
* Coordinate regular assessment practice across courses in line with college guidelines, including marking and moderation.
* Work with the Director of Faculty to ensure internal quality processes (observations, quality audit, PPRs) are undertaken in line with college requirements.
* Track student progress across the Curriculum Area using a centralized record of student marks and ensure timely external uploading when required.
* Monitor, analyse and respond to in-year results data, driving improvements with staff where appropriate.
* Lead, supervise and manage line reports in line with college practice and policies.
* Assist in staff recruitment within the Curriculum Area and induct new staff, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
* Timetable subjects according to the curriculum plan and deploy staff effectively.
* Manage health and safety within the Curriculum Area and ensure adherence to the College\'s Health and Safety Policy.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree-level qualification.
* A teaching qualification relevant to post-16 education (or willingness to undertake such qualification).
* Experience and ability to teach at least one provision in the adult education sector.
* Ability to analyse data to inform decision making and drive improvements in outcomes.
