The post holder will be responsible for the Ward 8 team with support from the Clinical Matron and Head of Nursing. They will lead and manage the ward to ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care is delivered to patients, involving families and carers as partners in care.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who can drive staff forward and support our STAQC journey. Experience in higher care would be advantageous. The ward team is welcoming, approachable, hardworking, and committed to providing high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to deliver high-quality specialist care and provide expert clinical and leadership functions in assessing care needs for this client group, who receive pre- and post-operative care, with an emphasis on care delivery and management of the inpatient service.
They will actively participate in the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating essential specialist nursing skills to meet the needs of this client group.
The post-holder is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating care on the ward, with support from the clinical matron and head of nursing. They will lead and manage the ward, ensuring safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care while involving families and carers.
The post holder will promote the positive image of the clinical area and the trust by being a role model, having a clear vision, and using clinical leadership to ensure excellent patient experience and a ward that promotes both clinical and operational excellence.
In conjunction with the senior management team, they will manage the ward's budget to ensure optimal resource use.
The ward manager will focus on attaining and maintaining STAQC Accreditations through continuous weekly audits against standards.
