Electrical Tester/Inspector
Employment: Permanent
Office location: Bristol office-based with national travel; regular travel to customer sites and working away from home (circa 80 nights per annum) as required.
Salary: up to £45k.
Standard Working Hours: 40 hours salaried per week.
Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays.

Job Summary
As a Venue Inspector (Electrical) you will carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), In Service Inspection & Testing of electrical equipment (PAT testing) and installation activities on specialist electrical installations in venues such as theatres, entertainment venues, educational establishments, houses of worship and conference facilities.
You will work in accordance with industry guidance and internal company policies as advised by the Qualified Supervisor or other designated responsible person. The role includes installation and remedial works, assisting with quotations for remedial works, and may include mechanical inspections, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and OPUS inspections. Regular internal training is required.
This is a permanent, hands‑on role involving significant travel and working away from home; annual leave may be restricted during peak periods. Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion with notice.
Key Responsibilities
* Site Inspections & Testing – Conduct EICRs, electrical installation inspection and testing, and PAT testing in line with industry guidance and best practice.
* Installation & Remedial Work – Carry out installation tasks, general site work and remedial works; act as the designated responsible person on site when directed.
* Quotations & Reporting – Assist with production of quotations for remedial works and complete reports and technical documentation to a high standard.
* Mechanical & PPM Support – Conduct mechanical inspection activities, PPM and OPUS inspections where required and as trained.
* Technical Advice & Customer Service – Provide a high level of technical advice on electrical safety to customers in person and/or in writing and maintain exceptional customer service.
* Process & Training Support – Assist the Compliance & Engineering Manager and Electrical Qualified Supervisors with verification of reports, development of inspection procedures, process manuals and internal training plans.
* Sub‑contractor Support – Provide technical support to sub‑contractors carrying out inspection activities and support subcontractor identification and onboarding.
* HSEQ & Compliance – Complete all technical, health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) documentation required by the business; observe and participate in the Company’s safety culture and report issues to Line Management or HR.
Experience & Skills
* Willing and able to work across multiple disciplines including electrical, mechanical and AV – internal training provided.
* Proficient with software systems such as Microsoft, Electraform, AI tools.
* Experience preparing and completing EICRs, PAT testing and electrical installation inspection and testing (specifically in a commercial environment).
* Experience with installation and remedial electrical works and with preparing quotations for remedial works.
* Ability or willingness to carry out mechanical inspection activities, PPM and OPUS inspections.
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical safety and the ability to provide high‑quality advice in person and in writing.
* Proven reporting and documentation skills, with attention to HSEQ requirements.
* Comfortable working alone and as part of a team; able to act as the designated responsible person on site when required.
* Commitment to safety, compliance and participation in internal training.
* Some tasks will require erection/use of appropriate access equipment and working at height.
* Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion; notice will normally be given.
