Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Child Care Officers to join our team and help us deliver the highest quality of care in our Children’s Homes. As a Corporate Parent, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children looked after, helping them thrive in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment. About the Role: In this key role, you will: Act as a key worker, advocate and role model to children and young people in our care Assist in developing, implementing and reviewing individual care plans Lead shifts and support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home Promote a caring and safe environment, ensuring all safeguarding and regulatory standards are met Build strong professional relationships with parents, social workers, schools and other partner agencies Contribute to children’s emotional, physical, educational and social development About You: You will be a confident and compassionate individual with: Experience working in residential childcare settings A Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a willingness to undertake it The ability to lead by example, inspire colleagues and work effectively as part of a team A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and improving outcomes for children A flexible approach, with the ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays You will also need to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
