One of our regular, and major logistics and retail clients based in the city centre of Peterborough are looking for a to join the team.
The main aim of the logistics planning team is to oversee the whole process of the product reaching the shelves from print.
To ensure that the delivery of the magazines reach the relevant retailers sufficiently, the logistics team would co-ordinate with the publisher’s production team, the external transport team and the internal wholesale team. Building relations with each of these is the key to ensure the whole operation from ‘print to retail’ runs smoothly.
Key skills to be successful in this role include;
1. Co-ordinating and planning skills.
2. Internal and external relationship building.
3. Commercial awareness including the ability to see potential cost-saving.
4. Problem solving skills.
5. Good general mathematic skills as weight calculations need to be observed.
6. A good level of Excel would be highly beneficial.
Although logistics experience is required, it is not essential. However, building relations and having the ability to account manage is essential.
