Advanced Practice Supervision and Assessment Lead (Community Services)
This post provides an exciting opportunity to join an established team driving change in Advanced Practice at regional and sub‑regional levels. You will play a pivotal role in maximising workforce transformation by supporting training and upskilling of the Community workforce against standards set by the National NHSE AP Centre, driving up quality in Advanced Practice education and ensuring safe and effective services for patients.
Main duties
Support delivery of the National NHSE advancing practice portfolio at regional and sub‑regional levels across SW Community Services. Lead senior workforce transformation, education planning and delivery, operating in innovative, high‑stakes change management environments. Applicants from within NHS will be offered on a secondment basis only, subject to agreement with their employer.
Job responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of Advanced Practice frameworks across Community Services.
* Lead training and development programmes for Advanced Practitioners to achieve the 10‑Year Health Plan goal of transferring care from acute to community settings.
* Engage with senior colleagues across public, private and not‑for‑profit organisations, building partnerships and ensuring inclusive, evidence‑based decision making.
* Identify risks, anticipate issues and create solutions to sudden and unexpected demands on programme delivery.
* Support the Faculty’s wider agenda and contribute to priorities as they arise.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* Master’s level or equivalent level of experience.
* Registered healthcare professional with current licence to practice.
* Extensive clinical experience at advanced practitioner level and clinical educator experience.
* Evidence of leading by example, role‑modeling a supportive inclusive culture with a focus on quality and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
Experience & Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of workforce development in healthcare, including education and commissioning approaches.
* Knowledge of Advanced Practice Framework development and implementation experience.
* Experience working with senior colleagues in diverse organisational settings.
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to evaluate and interpret complex information quickly, generating insights and taking an evidence‑based approach to decision making.
* Proficiency in analysing policy, information and research to support training design and delivery.
* Capacity to identify risks, anticipate issues and devise solutions to programme challenges.
