We'relooking for anAssistant Manager (Asphalt) to join our friendly team at our Halecombe Asphalt Plant in Frome. In this role, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the plant, ensuring everything operates safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. You'll lead a team, manage budgets, and make sure our customers receive the high-quality products and service they expect. What you'll be doing You'llplay a key role in managing all aspects of plant operations. This includes:
* Overseeing safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment
* Driving a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and risk assessments, implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Systems of Work
* Managing stock control, operational reporting, and budget performance
* Coaching and developing a high-performing team
* Supporting commercial teams to deliver excellent customer service
* Leading continuous improvement initiatives and change projects
Proven experience in asphalt operations and plant management
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and environmental compliance
* SHE NVQ Level 4/QCF Level 6 and IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications desirable
* Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
* A proactive approach to leadership, with the ability to manage change and drive performance and continuous improvement
