Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Durham.
The school supports children and young people aged 2–19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. Spanning two sites from early years through to sixth form, the academy provides a rich variety of tailored learning pathways for pupils with needs including autism and learning difficulties.
We welcome applications from recent graduates, as well as individuals with relevant experience or strong transferable skills who are passionate about making a real difference in education.
This is a long-term opportunity, subject to a successful trial day, with working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
* Have experience working in a transferable role
* Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
* Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
* Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
* Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
