Are you an experienced Hi Intensity therapist looking to support families and help them remain and stay together? Dorset Council's Safeguarding Families Together team has an opportunity for you.
The Safeguarding Families Together (SFT) approach recognizes the importance of adult workers supporting families to bring about positive changes in their lives. SFT is a strength-based model that aims to keep children safe at home and help families identify and implement necessary changes. A core principle of the service is the use of motivational interviewing techniques to motivate parents to make and sustain changes, reducing the risk of harm to children.

The responsibility for a family is shared among a team of professionals, including social workers, Child and Family Workers, domestic abuse practitioners, recovery workers, mental health practitioners, and psychologists. All work closely together, participate in group supervision, and contribute to analysis and decision-making.
You will work in a co-located MDT team alongside:
* Domestic Abuse Officer
* Probation Officer
* Probation Service Officer
* Domestic Abuse Practitioner
* Drug & Alcohol Worker
* Mental Health Workers
The team supports families to stay together when safe, using motivational interviewing and CBT techniques to empower parents and improve outcomes for children and their own wellbeing. Addressing complex adult needs helps reduce risks to children.
Responsibilities include:
* Attending group case management supervision with social workers, substance misuse workers, and DV workers
* Providing trauma-focused CBT treatment in patients' homes using evidence-based models
* Receiving clinical supervision
This is a fixed-term role. For NHS staff, it is offered on a secondment basis, subject to obtaining permission to be released. Employment requires an Enhanced DBS check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribing to the DBS update service can present a valid certificate instead of a new check.
Applicants requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship are ineligible to apply.
