With a target pipeline of 5,000 room keys across the UK, this is the perfect opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience as we grow into key regional cities across the UK Purpose of the role The maintenance assistant is responsible for carrying out routine maintenance tasks within a hotel, including minor repairs to plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and general upkeep of the building, ensuring all facilities are functioning properly and responding to guest maintenance requests in a timely manner, while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies Key Responsibilities People Delivering a personal and memorable customer service when interacting with guests Complete all mandatory training Ensuring any Fire Life Safety issues are resolved immediately Ensuring the relevant First Aid commitments are adhered to at all times Positive communication with guests, maintenance team and operational Managers Undertaking personal development activities to improve technical skills Sharing knowledge and best practice with the wider room2 maintenance teams Places The day-to-day upkeep of all areas of the hotel Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities, including guest areas, to identify potential maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety standards Daily, Weekly and Monthly H&S Checks and audits Responding to maintenance requests promptly, completing the necessary repairs; this may include tasks ranging from fixing minor plumbing issues to painting & decorating Completing preventive maintenance tasks for all hotel facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and guest room amenities. Logging maintenance issues Planet Putting the planet in the forefront of all business decisions Taking part in all company social responsibility initiatives Being an advocate of all our our values Record and document monthly energy consumption Skills and Qualities Painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems Experience with kitchen fitting preferred Ability to troubleshoot minor maintenance issues Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness Good communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and climbing Understanding of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) procedures An enthusiastic and professional attitude is essential Hotel experience is preferred but training will be provided A full UK driving licence is desirable Pay range and compensation package Competitive salary up to £13.85ph and discretionary bonus scheme 1 free night stay annually at our properties, with generous employee discounts thereafter.
