Our successful, high achieving, and innovative Surgery with an ANP/GP Joint Partnership is offering you the opportunity to work with us. We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our busy general practice as part of our dedicated clinical team, alongside friendly and supportive clinical and administrative staff. We have approximately 4600 patients.
Main duties of the job
The Post Holder is a Practice Nurse who, acting within their professional boundaries within the NMC standards, will perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the Clinicians. These include Cytology Health Checks, Health Promotion, ECGs, Asthma, Peak Flow Readings, Spirometry, Chronic disease management including diabetes, respiratory disease, CVD, Routine immunisations, childhood immunisations, chaperoning, and assisting patients being examined by other clinicians. The role involves actively participating in meeting national (QoF) and locum contract targets (IIF/KLOE/DES).
The successful candidate will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, within the general practice setting. Critical thinking in clinical decision-making and collaboration with the general practice team are essential.

The Post Holder will work as part of the nursing team, supporting clinical care in a holistic manner for patients registered at Westleigh Medical Practice. Responsibilities include routine patient care tasks, chronic disease management, immunisations, family planning, and following clinical protocols. The role requires critical thinking, collaborative working, and support for policy and procedure delivery.
Additional duties include equipment sterilisation, stock ordering, administrative participation, maintaining accurate records per NMC guidelines, and attending practice meetings. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
