Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will take on a pivotal leadership role within the Estate Management Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work closely with a skilled operational finance team of four and hold direct line‑management responsibility for two team members. This newly created position will see you strengthen financial oversight across several trading entities, enhance internal controls and support the delivery of timely, accurate and meaningful financial information.
You will play a central role in driving the continued rollout and optimisation of the Estate’s new ERP and Property Management systems. This includes embedding best practice, improving reporting tools and financial processes, and ensuring the systems deliver a strong return on investment. Alongside this, you will provide specialist financial and analytical support to the Property & Estates Team across property, agricultural and wider operational activities. Your remit will include contract review, investment appraisal, financial process development, workflow improvement and reinforcing controls across diverse operations. You will also contribute to budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning and statutory reporting, acting as a trusted financial partner to operational leaders and senior management.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or an exceptional candidate with equivalent experience. You will bring experience supervising or leading a finance team, paired with strong technical capability across management accounts, balance sheet integrity, cashflow reporting, VAT and financialpliance. You will have a solid understanding of internal controls, financial process improvement and continuous development, as well as experience with ERP or Property Management systems, whether through implementation, optimisation or regular operational use. You will be highly organised, analytically strong and confident in producing data‑driven reporting. Excellentmunication and influencing skills are essential, as you will regularly translateplex financial information for non‑financial colleagues and support decision‑making across the Estate. You should also be proactive, solutions‑focused andfortable managingpeting priorities under pressure. A passion for continuous improvement, digital transformation and smarter workflows will be key to your long‑term success in this role.
