Role OverviewWe are seeking a driven and dynamic
Business Development Executive
to join their team. This role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical sector. Based in Northampton, the role requires regular national travel to engage with prospective and existing clients.
The successful candidate will combine industry knowledge with strong relationship-building skills to deliver tailored packaging solutions that meet the complex needs of pharma clients.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry.
Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activity.
Present and promote packaging solutions that meet regulatory, quality, and sustainability requirements.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (design, production, operations) to ensure client needs are met.
Achieve and exceed sales targets, delivering measurable growth in the pharma sector.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings across the UK.
Provide accurate reporting on sales pipeline, forecasts, and activity.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven track record in business development or sales within B2B markets (packaging or pharma sector experience highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and its regulatory environment is advantageous.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to develop long-term partnerships and manage complex sales cycles.
Highly motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
Willingness to travel nationally as required.
Full UK driving licence.
