We have a great opportunity to work in the paper industry for a business that has been reborn. Our customers are pretty unique and the products we sell are really cool (you will never look at a passport the same again). We are looking for a Salle Operative for a minimum of 6 months to join the Supply Chain department. This role is based at Bathford Paper Mill, where security paper has been made for over 300 years. The Salle is responsible for counting and packing the reams of paper, ready to be shipped out to our customers.
Job Purpose:
To operate finishing equipment, ancillary equipment and their associated quality and control systems safely and with due regard for the environment. To ensure that the quality requirements for the tasks undertaken are met.
The job holder will be required to carry out all job/task aspects of the Salle grading structure and activity covered by the individual's competency log, for which training will be given. The job holder will be expected to meet output rates in all positions to meet the dispatch demand of the business. It will also be a requirement to support the Salle PDCA/3Cs process and maintain a high standard and awareness of health and safety within the role, working to 5s and SAFE standards.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
* Jogging sheeted product to produce reams of paper for packing
* Producing documentation
* Removing spoil
* Dimension checking and inspecting
* Wrapping, labelling and booking reams and sheets
* Organising the Salle WIP areas
* Maintaining supply of wrapping material to the flowlines
Required:
* Computer literate, Microsoft Office
* Ability to develop safe working practices that ensure legal requirements pertaining to health and safety and the environment are met
* Ability to apply judgement and common sense in dealing with quality and efficiency matters
* Ability to train quickly and efficiently and take on new roles within the operation
* Administration experience with attention to detail
