Edwards Employment Solutions are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer – Food to join a well-established food manufacturing site based in Mansfield (NG19). This is a permanent, full-time role, offering stability, autonomy, and a competitive salary of up to £42,000 per year.

The Role – Maintenance Engineer – Food
As a Maintenance Engineer – Food, you’ll be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. You’ll handle a mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdowns, working closely with production to keep things flowing.
Day-to-day, the Maintenance Engineer – Food role includes:
Carrying out routine inspections and planned maintenance
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using schematics and manuals
Mechanical repairs, electrical fault-finding, and electro-mechanical troubleshooting
Welding and basic fabrication work as required
Supporting installation and improvement of equipment
Ensuring all work is completed safely and to compliance standards
Keeping clear maintenance records and reports
Supporting and guiding others with maintenance best practice
You’ll be hands-on, trusted, and expected to think commercially about uptime and efficiency. No micro-management. Just ownership.
What We’re Looking For
This Maintenance Engineer – Food position will suit someone practical, proactive, and comfortable in a production environment.
You’ll need:
Proven experience in industrial or food manufacturing maintenance
Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding experience
Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
Welding experience
Good communication skills in English
Right to work in the UK
Nice to have (but not essential):
Supervisory or leadership experience
PLC exposure
Forklift licence (or willingness to train)
Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications
