Role Overview
Adamson Jones offers an exciting full‑time patent attorney position in a growing patent and trade‑mark practice. In this role you will take over a small existing client portfolio, and will be supported to grow your own practice and team within one of our regional offices. The prospect for development to partnership is excellent.
Duties
* Patent attorney services for direct clients, usually UK‑based, including:
o Drafting new patent applications
o Prosecuting patent applications in the UK and Europe, and overseas via associates
o Handling freedom‑to‑operate reviews and opinions
o Providing associated patent advice
* Prosecution of UK and European patent applications for overseas associate clients
* Supporting clients in managing their patent portfolio and developing their in‑house IP management function
* Collaborating with solicitors, IP consultants and other professionals to offer a broader range of services to clients
* Business development activities: growing networks inside and outside the firm, strengthening existing relationships, and pitching to potential new clients
Qualifications
* Qualified UK and European patent attorney
* Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience
* Background in electronics and software (experience with mechanical subject matter is advantageous)
* Significant direct client experience, including drafting of new applications
* Strong client communication and portfolio management skills
* Enthusiasm for business development and networking
* High professionalism and integrity
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
