Maintenance Engineer - CHP Job Summary
This field-based role involves performing routine servicing and reactive maintenance on Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems ranging from 30kW to 500kW. The position requires extensive travel throughout the UK and includes first-responder duties for equipment breakdowns.

Salary: £36,000 – £45,000 per annum.

Hours: Full-time, 40-hour week.

Location: Field-based with nationwide travel and frequent overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities
*
Maintenance: Execute a mixture of scheduled service work and emergency reactive repairs.
*
Technical Reporting: Provide detailed site reports highlighting necessary actions and improvement opportunities.
*
Relationship Management: Build effective relationships with the service team and provide technical support to colleagues and customers.
*
Safety & Compliance: Observe health and safety procedures on-site and complete required Risk Assessments.
Required Skills & Experience
*
Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a CHP service engineer or in a similar capacity.
*
Mechanical/Electrical Knowledge: Strong practical understanding of LTHW hot water systems, pumps, inverter drives, and LV power generation/distribution.
*
Technical Systems: Proficiency in software-based control systems (e.g., Comap, Web Supervisor, or Inteli Monitor).
*
Qualifications: Essential requirements include a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification and IEE 18th Edition certification.
*
IT Proficiency: Fluent in Microsoft Office and experienced in using laptop-based engine analysis tools.
Desirable Attributes
*
MWM Training or Gas Safe qualification.
*
Experience with building services plant such as HVAC or BMS.
*
Knowledge of BMS protocol languages like Modbus, Profibus, or BACNet.
*
Possession of a CSCS card and a personal mechanical/electrical toolkit.
