Job Title: Accommodation, Activities and Welfare Officer Salary: £26,825 - £28,629 Duration: Permanent Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday Location: Cambridge Role Purpose: The purpose of the Accommodation, Activities and Welfare Officer is to source suitable accommodation for international students, and ensure student welfare and social needs are met. Administration tasks including admissions, visa applications, compliance and marketing will also be part of this role. An enhanced DBS will be completed prior to starting this role Key Duties: Liaise with the International Centre Manager to identify student accommodation needs prior to arrival. Arrange and manage placements in homestay, residence and private accommodation, ensuring all safeguarding, DBS and health & safety checks are completed. Maintain a database of accommodation options and ensure accurate and up-to-date student records. Develop and sustain a strong supply of suitable accommodation, including recruiting new homestay providers. Conduct annual homestay inspections and monitor provider compliance. Collect and review feedback from students and homestay families to ensure high satisfaction levels. Act as the primary contact for all accommodation enquiries and manage issues in liaison with personal tutors or relevant staff. Serve as the first point of contact for international student welfare and accommodation issues throughout the academic year. Respond to safeguarding concerns and refer to appropriate college support services. Provide emergency support for students and host families outside office hours (on a rota basis, including weekends). Offer advice to students on accessing local healthcare services. Coordinate a year-round social programme and assist with arrivals, departures and orientation. Arrange student transportation, including airport transfers, weekly bus passes and group activity travel. Ensure international and ESOL admissions processes meet requirements, including eligibility and visa checks. Maintain accurate admission records and coordinate with Finance to process and manage homestay payments. Follow up on outstanding payments and support financial processes related to transport and social activity bookings. Contribute to achieving income targets for homestay placements and other international services. Adhere to and promote policies on safeguarding, health & safety, equality and data protection.
