€35,000 a year
Posted: 17 November
Offer description

Their ambition is to alleviate and eliminate the devastating and complex effects of destitution and homelessness experienced by asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants in the Tees Valley.

Role Description

Open Door North East are committed to walking alongside people who have experienced forced migration.

As they expand their reach and deepen their impact, Open Door North East are looking for a compassionate and strategic Casework and Advocacy Manager to lead their dedicated team.

This pivotal role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of forced migration, casework, and advocacy—someone ready to shape our approach, strengthen their services, and lead with both vision and practicality.

They are seeking a leader who brings professional expertise, a hands‑on approach, and a deep commitment to justice and inclusion.

If you have experience supporting migrants, managing teams, and navigating the challenges of No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference.

You’ll help individuals rebuild their lives, develop ODNE’s casework strategy, and influence wider systems to ensure the Tees Valley becomes a place of welcome, dignity, and equity.

You’ll also be responsible for safeguarding and risk management across their casework services.

Purpose of the Role

The Casework and Advocacy Manager is responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality support and advocacy services for people experiencing destitution and/or homelessness.

Open Door North East provide person‑centred support to asylum seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrants, including those with no recourse to public funds.

The postholder will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee casework and triage, and work in close partnership with the CEO to inform and implement service‑level strategy.

As joint Designated Safeguarding Lead, the role carries shared responsibility for safeguarding across the organisation, to ensure the highest standard of protection and risk management across all services.
