Applicants for Regulated Roles under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before employment is confirmed.
The cost of the check is borne by the successful candidate, deducted from the first salary, or in some cases, in installments post-employment with HR approval. If employment ends before deduction, the full amount is deducted from the final salary.
This applies to both new applicants and existing employees applying for roles requiring a PVG/Disclosure check.
